Name: Zinc Borate
Chemical Name: Zinc Borate
Chemical Formula: xZnO.yB₂O₃.zH₂O
Appearance: White powder
Introduction:
Zinc Borate is an inorganic compound that exists in crystalline form or as an amorphous white powder. It is insoluble in water and has low toxicity. Its melting point is 980°C. Zinc Borate is an environmentally friendly, halogen-free flame retardant.
Applications:
Zinc Borate is used as a flame retardant in combination with other chemicals, including antioxidants like trioxide, magnesium hydroxide, alumina trihydrate, and certain bromine-based flame retardants.
Zinc Borate is used as a halogen-free flame retardant and is widely applied in the processing of plastics and rubber, such as PVC, PE, PP, polyamide, polyurethane, polystyrene, epoxy resin, vinyl plastics, styrene-butadiene rubber, synthetic rubber, and similar materials. It can also be used in the production of paper, textile fabrics, decorative boards, floor coverings, wallpaper, carpets, ceramic glazes, disinfectants, and paints to enhance flame-retardant performance.
